Resources for Parents

Early Intervention Services:  Even though each child develops at his/her own pace, your child should be able to do many of the same things other children are doing.  Please call 681-8670 if you have concerns about your child’s speech, behaviors, cognitive skills, motor skills, if your child was born prematurely, or any other concerns regarding your child’s development.

Help Me Grow
Help Me Grow provides resources for families to understand developmental milestones and learn if there are concerns. This helps families take the lead in seeking additional support or referring their child for a comprehensive, confidential screening or evaluation at no cost.  If you have concerns about a child's development and think a child might need extra help to learn and grow, don't hesitate to refer a child.

The family will be contacted by the local school district to arrange for a screening or evaluation to determine if their child is eligible for Infant and Toddler Intervention or Preschool Special Education services. Check online at www.helpmegrowmn.org for more information or to refer a child 0-5 years old.

TRF Early Childhood Initiative
The mission for our ECI is to support the youngest learners in our community.  We work to do this through the Big Blue Bookshelf project, which redistributes gently used books throughout the community that the children can keep.  We also provide the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program in Pennington County, Resource kits for parents and children who participate in Early Childhood Screening.  Also, supporting the area child care providers and Early Childhood educators with an annual conference is another project we organize.
