Early Childhood Screening
Minnesota requires all children to go through a health and developmental screening before entering public school, preferably around the age of 3 ½ to 4. The Early Childhood Screening is a simple check of your child’s total growth...physical, mental, and emotional. The screening takes approximately one hour. Resources and information about preschool age development are available also.
The purpose of the Early Childhood Screening is not to determine kindergarten readiness, but rather to promote early detection of a child’s health and developmental delays before they become serious and do lasting harm. Screenings are conducted by school district professionals and are free of charge. For information about screenings or to make an appointment please call the Challenger Preschool office at 218-681-8670 and talk with Lisa Simenson or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
